The City of Kingston and CMHC invite you to celebrate National Housing Day - November 23, 2010
As Canada’s National Housing Agency, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation strongly believes in the importance of working closely with our industry partners to recognize the advances in affordable and social housing.
CMHC, in partnership with the City of Kingston will be hosting a National Housing Day event. National Housing Day provides an opportunity to highlight activities and programs that serve the housing needs of Canadians. This year’s event will showcase achievements and celebrate local accomplishments related to affordable housing.

AHAN Presents: Working With Clients Who Hoard
Instructor Elaine Birchall is the recognized leader in hoarding behavior in Canada. Her consulting practice specializes in both direct support and counselling of hoarders as well as training for service providers who deal with hoarders. Disturbing Trend in Use of Emergency Shelters by Elderly Women
Today, a CBC News article explores the trend of increasing use of emergency shelters by elderly women (many in their 70s) in Montreal.
The shelter explored in the article reports that it has been forced to turn away 20% more women than usual due to this new trend.

Maintenance Tips for Tenants Workshop
The clinic is hosting a Maintenance Tips Workshop on June 18, 2010 at the Ramada Inn. Drop by between 1-4 pm to get advice and information for maintenance issues.
Clinic staff will be on hand to provide information about tenant rights, and assist in preparing tenant applications to the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) .
The first tenant workshop will be held June 18 right after the Landlord and Tenant Board hearings. You can drop in with your questions anytime from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ramada Inn, 2nd Floor, 11 Bay Bridge Road in Belleville.
